Maybe it was the stretch from Bill Monroe or Eric Clapton. Youth needed to be eased into extremes of genres, but the Cash program packed them together in a setting which did not allow choice. It wasn’t like going to The Fillmore to see three varied styles of music where you could float around and divert oneself. It was more like being plopped in a seat in a classroom and having a teacher make you listen. Of course, in retrospect, that view changes.

And what the hell was ‘Music Scene’? I must have been under a rock. Or maybe it was Steinberg. I avoided him like a plague. He just wasn’t funny to me.
