The Move from Hell – Day 3 or Fuck, Fuck, Fuckity, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck.
I won’t go into detail about the worst moving experience in my life until it’s over, a bunch of other problems are solved and I am finished dealing with the anger, frustration, and outright nonsense that has been thrown in my path like a bunch of tacks on the bathroom floor.
The most immediate problem is this: Due to the move, YAHOO (the most aptly named company in the history of history) has put my email (Rogers, not YAHOO, but YAHOO is running the show) on hold for 48 hours, because I moved…something that Rogers NEVER did when I moved in the past.
Soooo…it has been OVER 48 hours, and still no access. Because of that, I cannot access any sites where my email address is the user name because right now, it doesn’t exist.
Soooo…on top of that, my wi-fi modem decided to stop working yesterday morning and I cannot access the internet, which means I cannot research or post a new column…and worse, I cannot receive or post ANY columns until we’re back online. They say they can fix the problem on Friday. FRIDAY! Please, God, give me a neck I can punch.
Soooo…I turn my phone into a wi-fi hotspot, BUT it will only stay connected for a couple of minutes BECAUSE…I don’t know why…and neither do the 17 tech support people (all very nice, btw) I have talked to since 8:30 this morning.
Soooo…I’m hoping to get this message up before I suffer through another heat-stroke inducing night thanks to not having air conditioning installed until Wednesday and the fact that the new (beautiful, I might add) apartment’s wall to wall windows face East and the sun barges into the bedrooms when it comes up like a crack whore looking for a twenty dollar rock in a shag rug. Today, I’m heading back to the old address to spend about 18 hours finishing the move, again with no air conditioning, and then, God willing, coming back here to unpack and start living again.
Soooo…to all of you, please be patient, all the columns from this week will be put online as soon as I am back in business, hopefully, by Friday…and with a miracle, even sooner.
Wish me luck.

I’m sending you thoughts of cool breezes, room darkening shades, and a master list of locations for the stuff you stashed into any available orifice during the move. You probably won’t get this message until 2014, but you’ll know I was thinking of you. xo

Good luck Bob. You can have our cool rainy weather which is supposed to turn to summer tomorrow. I wish I could help you get through your move physically. I’ll just say that Time Will Carry On (Won’t it?) and I hope you can Breathe Easy ASAP.
