Peter’s Holiday Message to You
Merry Christmas. Happy holidays. Lots of controversy over those…words. My grade 13 English teacher, Mrs Masterson, used to say “Words are cheap.” They convey our thoughts and feelings. We use words to deliver the Molotov Cocktail of anger. We use words to deliver the dozen roses of love. They are vessels, and like any vessel, what they contain is more important than what they themselves are. We are ostensibly celebrating the birth of the Prince of Peace at this time of year. So let us celebrate. Share your love, compassion and empathy.
It’s been a pleasure sharing my thoughts with you. Look forward to more of the same in 2018 as I write about my dear Lois, Reg the Cat, Phantoms and the great music which surrounds us. A special thanks to those of you who have given feedback. You’ve been given time off for good behavior.
All the best of the season to you and yours.
See you soon (January 11th)

A confirmed Cat person, Peter dabbled with being a water boy, a paper boy and an altar boy before finally settling on a career with the Canadian federal government. Once, in his youth, he ate a Dutch oven full of mashed potatoes to win a 5 cent bet with his beloved sister Mary’s boyfriend. (Of course he was much younger and a nickel went a lot farther!) He has retired to palatial “Chez Montreuil”, which he shares with his diabetic little buddy Reg the Cat. He is blessed to have his dear Lois in his life. He is not only a plastic aircraft modeller, but a proud “rivet counter”. Military aviation and live music are among other interests of his, and he tries to get out to as many shows as he can. He will be here for your enlightenment whenever the stars align. Profile photo courtesy of Pat Blythe, caricature courtesy of Peter Mossman.
