Segarini Suggests That 2017 Made 2016 Look Like the Best Year Ever! (Which, of course, it wasn’t)

Hello.

Welcome to my column.

Please make yourself comfy and perhaps have some snacks available. I would suggest some salty snacks, and some sweet, preferably, chocolate snacks. Personally, I like both Milk and Dark Chocolate, and now I hear there is a Pink Chocolate headed our way sometime this year. I never could abide White Chocolate, though. It doesn’t look right, or even taste like Chocolate to me. It seems arrogant and aloof, you might say entitled…like it’s better than all the other Chocolates, but of course, it’s not. In fact, I think it sucks! YEAH! How do you like THAT? Fucking White Chocolate thinks it’s better than all the other Chocolates. Well, FUCK YOU, White Chocolate…you SUCK! Add a bottle of decent tequila to your snack tray…I’ll be right back after I get mine

Peter’s Holiday Message to You

Posted in Opinion with tags , , , , , , , on December 14, 2017 by segarini

Merry Christmas. Happy holidays. Lots of controversy over those…words. My grade 13 English teacher, Mrs Masterson, used to say “Words are cheap.” They convey our thoughts and feelings. We use words to deliver the Molotov Cocktail of anger. We use words to deliver the dozen roses of love. They are vessels, and like any vessel, what they contain is more important than what they themselves are. We are ostensibly celebrating the birth of the Prince of Peace at this time of year. So let us celebrate. Share your love, compassion and empathy.

Segarini: My Dad – Father’s Day 2017

Seg My Dad and I

This is the 8th annual printing of a column I wrote in tribute to my father for  Father’s Day. It is my pleasure to share my Dad with you.

I miss my parents a lot, and I never got to thank my dad for all he tried to teach me, all he tried to instill in me. If your parents are still alive, your grandparents, even your aunts and uncles. call them up today, tell them you love them, and cherish the ability you have to tell them first hand. Someday, they will all be gone, and even though you will hear their voices and feel their presence for the rest of your life, there will be times when you experience a longing, and an ache so profound, that you will wish with all your heart you could see them again and let them know how much they meant to you. Family is more important than any other aspect of your life…don’t ever forget it.

Happy Fathers Day, Pop…I miss you…and I love you.

Roxanne

I don’t want to startle anyone … but there’s been quite a lot of blue in the sky lately, and there’s this big yellowy orange ‘ball’ up there as well ….  and it’s been getting kind of warmer, too. Should I worry?

Frank Gutch Jr: 2017? Bring It On!

Jesus Christ, but 2016 was a tough year!  The musicians (and people) we lost!  The impending doom of a Trump-inspired government!  The division of what was in some ways a country, a world even.  Ideals crushed beneath the boot heels of hate, news warped beyond any rational thought, a world based upon a semblance of logic now an anarchy of thought and emotion.
