All my neatly laid out plans for today’s column……changed on the note of a Christmas song. Although Fall may be my favourite time of year, Christmas is by far my favourite holiday. It is an incredibly happy, sad, bittersweet and joyous time of year that brings out every possible emotion in me. I run through them from top to bottom repeatedly.

There are so many women who have ventured into the business because of their love of music…. it is their passion, to release a part of their inner selves, to create, to tell their stories through singing, writing, playing and performing. They add colour and life, offering up themselves and baring their souls and their hearts. Without these amazing women, these risk-takers and gamblers, well….we the audience would be the poorer.
With the advent of celebrity musical team-ups to help sell more downloads in this unpredictable business we now find ourselves in, I thought maybe we could do this for all lapsed and flagging music artists past and present. The supply of animal pictures seems to be limitless. And nothing can draw an “awww” out of even the most hardened grouch’s mouth quicker than the sight of a tiny, helpless, pink-mouthed baby anything. We are helpless before their innocent charms.
