If there’s one thing that I’ve learned in my journey of becoming a…something in this crazy music/entertainment/out of the box industry, it’s that sometimes you can’t do everything by yourself. There are many times when you just need a little help from your friends. One of the most recent, frankly one of the nicest examples of that exact thing happened just last night – it was the Bobcast.

You can smell it in the air and see it in the broken down tour van traffic clogging our highways as one by one bands start to file out of our fair city. You can see it in the streets, as journalists, photographers, music lovers and music makers squint in the unseasonably bright sunlight. All of us are nursing hangovers, sore feet from walking, sore legs from dancing, sore shoulders from carrying cameras and bags, and sore throats from speaking, singing and screaming until the wee hours of the early mornings. The sad sad state of affairs the Sunday of Canadian Music week has become is only compounded by the fact that this year’s CMW was pretty god damn amazing.

Have I been constantly turning you down? Well, unless you’re a music PR company, a rock band or just a cute guy with a guitar, you just don’t have a chance this week. Why? Because it’s Canadian Music Fest (as part of Canadian Music Week) here in Toronto!
Segarini: Canadian Music Week – Risking Your Liver for Rock and Roll

We may get a little rain, but what’s a little rain when you won’t catch pneumonia going outside for a smoke. In fact the only really serious cloud hanging over anybody’s head at CMW this year will be the good folks at Astral waiting to see if they will be disconnected by Bell before the end of the year.

Very sorry to hear about the passing of Ronnie Montrose this past week. Glad I mentioned the spectacular debut album from his band a couple of months ago. Segarini wrote a great column earlier this week touching on some of the greats we have recently lost.
