Writing one’s column on the day it’s supposed to post is not the best in planning but it will have to do for today (and last week and probably next week). Right now I’m listening to The Beach Boys song God Only Knows and I can’t stop thinking of all the people that have shared my life, not just in the past four years but going as far back as I can remember. So add the following video I found on FB and a late night conversation and yes, once again my column takes a different fork in the road.

Everybody calm down.
The Grammys aren’t about MUSIC. The Grammys are about MONEY. PEOPLE who are about MUSIC listen to far more than what is put on parade here.
The Grammy audience was down 21%, this year, their lowest ratings ever. They don’t even know why they are tanking… but I may know a big part of the reason.

Proud to say our track record is pretty good for sniffing out greatness in a sea of popular, financially successful mediocrity, but the continued confusion regarding the differences in worthiness and rose-coloured glasses steeped in nostalgia, needs to be addressed. When it comes to Greatness, consider the majority of what you hear on terrestrial radio as nothing more than Alternative Fact.

It’s Tuesday night and I’m just starting my column….that’s it. This one will be short and sweet (so to speak). My lovely daughter-in-law Colleen has just finished giving me a Thai “massage”. The word massage is in quotes because it’s not really a “massage”.
