Peter – Get Carded Every Day

Last week a friend of mine made a statement about their partner, stressing that they were not recognizing a special occasion, but simply wanted to publicly express their gratitude that the person was always “there” for them.

I gave it some careful thought and posted that I liked the fact that the person was taking the time and making the effort to acknowledge the importance of their partner in their life. My friend, for their part, was pleased with my conclusion.

“If music be the food of love, play on!”  Like food, music can be comforting. It can also be stimulating, annoying, or cloying. Music releases dopamine, the ‘feel good’ hormone, just like sex and actual food. Music can arouse feelings of euphoria and craving. Dopamine release is at “peak emotional arousal” during music listening, so you really ARE getting a bang for your musical buck.

Easter was magic when I was a little girl. My mum was a writer, so we would wake to a trail of poetic clues that would lead us to where the Bunny had hidden his goodies. As kids, any creature that left goodies, be it Santa, the Easter Bunny, or a Leprechaun, was all good in our books.
