My last column touched on the process of getting Internet and cable access at Chez Montreuil. As a lot happened after my press deadline, I decided this week to fill in the blanks for you, Loyal Reader.

September 14th marks Reg the Cat’s birthday. He turned 14 this year, but sad events overshadowed everything else this year, and the celebration was muted. However, here is my tribute to my little buddy for this year.

September 14th is always an auspicious day at Chez Montreuil, as it marks Reg the Cat’s birthday. This, the second part of “The Story of Reg; so far…;), deals with the period between Him leaving Brampton and His arrival in Toronto, circa December 12, 2012 – February 02, 2013.

My real one is December 27th. I have previously written about the tribulations of being born so close to not just Christmas, but also to a sibling’s birthday, plus New Year’s Eve. As I came of legal age, I found that I had a stated purpose for drinking alcohol on 3 out of 7 of those days, instead of just aimlessly drinking everyday, (which actually doesn’t sound like a bad course of action to follow either, come to think of it).
My second birthday is May 5th, and here’s why I celebrate on that date, every year. At least, I have celebrated since 2004.
