I’ve actually remembered how to use that contraption they call a camera and now I have two! I used them both for the first time last night photographing the Forever Seger band at their rehearsals. What a joy to have two cameras set up with different lenses…..sort of a “grab-and-go” scenario. Just pop the lens cover, make sure the camera is “on” (this is always helpful), point, focus and shoot. So good to be back!

Being in a rock band can be fun, rewarding, stimulating and an adventure. It can also be tedious, frightening, life threatening, and rife with danger. No matter how well you plan, no matter how prepared you are, there are forces at work which will occasionally just fuck you up. Sometimes, it can be someone who is a stranger, or worse, someone in the support system of the band who causes the problems. Sometimes…it can be you…and when I say you, I mean me.

My daughter moved into University residence this weekend as she starts both her personal independence and a long path toward becoming a Forensic Psychologist. My son, meanwhile, starts high school in a scaled down fast-lane critical thinking school (GASP!) for students who want to be community and business leaders. Summer has ended for them as an abrupt slap in the back with adult responsibilities.
