The east end of Toronto has always been an interesting mix of peoples. Heavily treed and with many well tended parks, it’s a beautiful area, diverse and dynamic.

Roxanne Tellier – Who Really Won the War on Terror?

Posted in COVID 19, life, Opinion, politics, Review with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on September 12, 2021 by segarini

In 2001, I had a small eBay business that was doing pretty well. I had five people that worked with me to expedite the collectibles that I shipped around the world. About 90% of my business income came from American buyers.

That summer had been slow, as summers were, but as we headed into September, and with the holiday season approaching, I wasn’t worried about ramping back up to pay my staff. In fact, in preparation for the busy season, my husband and I had planned a well-earned vacation to Western Canada, to see my family there. We would be flying out on September 13th.

I’m happy to report that the rumours of my death were greatly exaggerated.  I’ve only been dead to the social media world for the last 30 days.

It is believed that the first president to use the term “my fellow Americans” was Franklin Delano Roosevelt, in his Inaugural Address of 1933.

Roxanne Tellier – Coming Down from the Sugar High

Posted in life, Opinion, politics, Review with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on February 21, 2021 by segarini

In the last weeks of January, and into the first two weeks of February, I was floating. I would wake each day, nearly bounding out of bed, and ready to take on the world. We were counting down the days to Biden’s inauguration, and even the horrific attack on the Capitol on the 6th was but a speed bump, easily acknowledged by both Democrats and Republicans as an obvious and seditious attack on the Constitutionally mandated work of the Congress.

The Dems impeached trump AGAIN. Biden was inaugurated without incident. And with trump silenced by Twitter, life was sweet.

Sadly, however, a few weeks sans trump had left the GOP with a bad case of amnesia, and, just last week, they yawned like teenagers through video evidence of trump’s guilt, and voted to acquit.

Roxanne Tellier – Lying Liars, Bullies and Cowards

Posted in Opinion, politics, Review with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on October 6, 2019 by segarini

I’ve written before about the dangers of elected officials lying to the public. Twice, in fact. In modern politics, it seems that lying in public has replaced any pretence of integrity or any desire to have one’s tenure be remembered with respect.

Lying breaks our faith in others – once we know that someone will lie to us, we can never again truly trust that person. And it doesn’t matter why the lie was told, because the lie reveals something very important about the liar; the liar is a coward.

Elections here, elections there… we’ve got elections everywhere!

With the American midterms just two weeks away, It goes without saying that most liberal progressives, democrats and independents are hoping to see a ‘blue wave’ overturn the stranglehold the Trump administration has on all three branches of government, and the Supreme Court.

Segarini Suggests That 2017 Made 2016 Look Like the Best Year Ever! (Which, of course, it wasn’t)

Hello.

Welcome to my column.

Please make yourself comfy and perhaps have some snacks available. I would suggest some salty snacks, and some sweet, preferably, chocolate snacks. Personally, I like both Milk and Dark Chocolate, and now I hear there is a Pink Chocolate headed our way sometime this year. I never could abide White Chocolate, though. It doesn’t look right, or even taste like Chocolate to me. It seems arrogant and aloof, you might say entitled…like it’s better than all the other Chocolates, but of course, it’s not. In fact, I think it sucks! YEAH! How do you like THAT? Fucking White Chocolate thinks it’s better than all the other Chocolates. Well, FUCK YOU, White Chocolate…you SUCK! Add a bottle of decent tequila to your snack tray…I’ll be right back after I get mine

Bob and the Shitgibbon

Up until a few hours ago I was about to post my column today, which was a 6000 word essay and reprints of comments, articles and facts, slaved over to make a simple point…

Donald Trump is not qualified to be the President of the United States, and Hillary Rodham Clinton is.

Roxanne

A few years back, I used to write recaps of reality shows for a showbiz site. One of the hardest to sit through without gagging was Donald Trump’s‘Celebrity Apprentice.’
