The first of what will hopefully be many memories from a life of both rock and roll, not to mention radio, television, drinking, and debauchery. Shall we begin?

Segarini – Q: Are we not Men? A: We are Demo, D-E-M-O …PLUS – Another Format Free Music Mix

In the housing industry, DEMO is shorthand for DEMOLISH, the procedure used by renovators and construction workers to tear down that which is to be replaced in order to upgrade a property and increase its value

In the recording industry, DEMO is shorthand for DEMONSTRATION, the procedure used by artists, labels, producers, and songwriters to preview a song or musical project in order to choose what to record or continue to tweak before committing the time and money to realize a finished product or artistic statement.

There are other definitions of DEMO aside from these two, but when it comes to music, the definitions can oft-times be interchangeable …in, and out, of order.

Fernando Periscope’s Fabulous Fun Filled Facebook Follies – The Robert Segarini Line of Time

Posted in Opinion, Review with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on May 26, 2018 by segarini

Hello.

I am Fernando Periscope.

Mr. Bob is up to his well-defined elbows in Texas No Bean Chili of his own design, rustic Mexican Rice, and a beautiful and healthy (if you insist on looking at it that way) Iceberg lettuce salad drizzled and besotted with an Olive Oil and Vinegar vinaigrette dressing, thin-sliced red onion, and crumbled Roquefort cheese. So demanding are his primitive culinary skills and excitement awaiting his guests for this evening’s repast, discourse, and motion picture study of the 3D variety, that he asked me, his faithful companion of long standing, Fernando Periscope, to address and amuse you on this, his Blog of Note. If you will please follow me by clicking on the continue reading link, (and please stay together in an orderly fashion), your evening’s entertainment will begin.

Segarini: Sam the Record Man

Posted in Opinion with tags , , , , , , , , , , on September 24, 2012 by segarini

Sam Sniderman: For our readers from the U.S and the rest of the world, Sam was to record retail stores what Col. Sanders was to fried chicken. Someone who not only loved what he did, but did it better than anyone else. The only difference between him and the Col. was that Sam never sold out to big business and closed his stores rather than cheapen the product and sell out. He truly was one of a kind. I say was, because Sam passed away either late last night or early this morning, surrounded by family and friends, in his sleep. He was 92.

With a nod to Neil Young:  “’Live music is better’ bumper stickers should be issued!”  God knows how few of us realize what we are missing out there these days.  The bars and taverns and music listening rooms are being stocked with an amazing array of excellent artists and we are either sitting at home with our fingers up our ass or hanging out in some bar with no music beyond that hooked up to stereo speakers on walls, bitching about there being no good music.  For all of you who do that (and you know you do), I have a finger for you and you can bet which one.
