Do we laugh or cry over Trump’s first 100 days, which he’s cunningly sandwiched into three weeks? At least that’s how it feels, as every day seems to bring some new crisis to the fore, whether by tiny finger tweets, or CNN alerts, or hysterical ‘breaking news!’ posts on social media.

When  I was a kid,my parents read the paper after dinner, and they were not to be disturbed while they did. It was important that they read the news, because otherwise, how would they know what was going on in their neighbourhood, their city, their country, or their world? The paper told you what you needed to know … and you believed it.

I woke up in a great mood this morning. With reason – the last few days have been filled with music and food and friends and more good food. I’m a simple person.  My needs are few. Oh, I may grumble and stew and frown at times, but overall … I’m pretty much a human happy face emoji.
