This is supposed to be a music column. I should be regaling you with all the Indie bands I’ve seen, the venues and clubs I’ve sashayed through, the festival stages I’ve covered, the photographs I’ve taken and cities I’ve traveled to (not to mention the food). The unfortunate thing is, for the past seven months I’ve done none of that (except for the food) and it’s starting to get damn frustrating!

Tuesdays are my “writing days” but as hard as I try I am easily distracted (squirrel!!). Today is apparently no different. As I complete my morning troll through FB, I discover all sorts of interesting (and not so interesting, in fact quite wasteful) trivia….but every once in awhile, a gem emerges….like this. Haunting yet peaceful, I’m so glad my friend Donna shared one of these videos on FB.

It’s the final weekend of summer….the  official/unofficial end of walks along the beach, barbeques, wearing white, lounging with a martini…yes it’s Labour Day weekend. Many of us are all off cottaging or tenting or beaching. Escaping the city for one last breath of summer air and that sense of liberating freedom that comes with it.

It’s Scrapbook time!! So far, May and June have been busy months for a little bar-hopping between cities….checking out new places, acquainting myself with the local talent, hitting the dance floor and meeting up with friends. So, keeping everything in chronological order I’ll begin with my hometown of London, Ontario, famously known as The Forest City. (need you ask why?)
