Last week the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame did a virtual induction of its 2020 nominees that included Whitney Houston, The Doobie Brothers, Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, Notorious B.I.G., and T. Rex. Typical of past years during the induction process, the public and media got their panties into a bunch over how their favourite artist has been snubbed.

Not the shrunken down versions they use on CDs, I mean those gloriously creative (mostly) 12” vinyl record album covers. I was looking through my vinyl record collection the other day and marvelled at some of the amazing designs of some of the covers. Now, before we start delving into some classic album covers as well as a few personal favourites, a little history is in order, but don’t panic – there will not be a quiz later.
Cameron Carpenter: The ABC`s Of Rock`n`Roll – The Hall Of Shame
Posted in Opinion with tags Cameron Carpenter, DBAWIS, Don't Believe a Word I Say, Kiss, music, Records, Ringo, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Rush, Slade, Status Quo, Stones, Sweet, T-Rex on October 18, 2012 by segariniLast week we looked at the long list for the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2013. You know my thoughts and we`ll see what happens come December.
I have been to Cleveland a few times and have had a chance to go to the Hall of Fame on a couple of occasions. Maybe it is because I was Director of Marketing for the Hard Rock Café in Canada and have seen some of the greatest rock memorabilia of all time that I was not completely blown away by their collection. Maybe we are spoilt because there are great pieces all over the world and they are on public display.
